The Wireless Infrastructure Association (WIA) is the telecommunications industry intermediary and National Sponsor of the registered apprenticeship program known as TIRAP. Since 2017, WIA has administered National Standards of Apprenticeship along with the United States Department of Labor approved, apprenticeable occupations associated with the program. Graduates of the program receive a national, industry-recognized credential that certifies occupation proficiency and provides opportunities for career advancement. WIA’s approach, working with participating employers and industry advisors, promotes a consistency and uniformity in training across occupations.
WIA offers workforce resources to employers, government entities, academia and job seekers:
The WIA Career Pathways tool is the first of its kind digital platform, complete with training and education requirements, expected salary, and overall demand. WIA’s Career Pathways tool allows interested job seekers to visualize a path forward in the industry in more than 90 jobs across the broadband ecosystem. Whether a job seeker is interested in designing, building, maintaining or supporting the network, from wired to wireless the Career Pathways tool has them covered.
WIA’s Telecommunications Education Center (TEC) is a dynamic learning program devoted to improving education, quality of work, and safety within the telecommunications industry.
