Celebrate National Apprenticeship Day with TIRAP

April 30, 2025, marks National Apprenticeship Day, a time to recognize the power of apprenticeships to connect people to meaningful careers and help employers build a skilled, future-ready workforce.
At the Wireless Infrastructure Association (WIA), we’re proud to lead the Telecommunications Industry Registered Apprenticeship Program (TIRAP) a nationally recognized program built by and for telecommunications employers. TIRAP defines career paths in critical roles such as tower technicians, wireless technicians, telecommunications installers, and broadband technicians, with clear progressions into leadership roles like Lead and Foreman. We support telecommunications and broadband registered apprenticeship programs across the country with 109 employer sponsors participating and 20 pre-apprenticeship partnerships with TIRAP to date.
We’re excited to celebrate National Apprenticeship Day to highlight the success and impact of registered apprenticeships within our industry!

About TIRAP
The Wireless Infrastructure Association (WIA) is the National Sponsor of the Telecommunications Industry Registered Apprenticeship Program (TIRAP), a DOL-registered apprenticeship program. Since 2017, WIA has administered National Standards of Apprenticeship for 16 DOL-approved occupations established under the program. Graduates receive national, industry-recognized credentials that certify occupation proficiency and expand opportunities for career advancement. WIA supports participating employers in promoting consistency and uniformity in training across occupations to improve the safety and quality of the wireless and broadband workforce.
